In a surprising incident, a newly-wed bride sued an award-winning wedding venue for a whopping Rs 1.5 crore after she slipped on the dance floor and broke her elbow, an international media website reported.

The bride named Cara Donovan claimed she slipped on spilled drinks after staff failed to stop guests from taking their drinks onto the 'highly slippery' laminated plastic floor. Cara Donovan is a teacher by profession.

The bride also added that the tables were placed by the edge of the floor encouraging people to dance and drink. She further accused that no one came to mop the slippery floor even after people spilled alcohol on it.

The incident took place in September 2018 and even after three operations since her fall, Cara is still in permanent pain and not able to get back to work. Now, mother of two, she holds the staff responsible for her plight.

Incidentally, the Country House Weddings Ltd, which runs the 16th century Tudor manor house was once voted the Best UK Wedding Venue by magazine readers and now has been sued by the teacher Cara Donovan.

However, according to the media report defence to the action by Country House Weddings Ltd was not available from the court and the contents of Donovan's claim have not yet been tested in evidence by a judge.

This isn't the only wedding-related incident that has grabbed headlines recently. A photographer deleted all photos in his camera right in front of the groom after he was denied food at the wedding.
