After seven years of martial bliss, much-loved television couple Ridhi Dogra and Raqesh Bapat are now headed for separation. They have amicably decided to part ways. The actors, who tied the knot on May 29, 2011, would have celebrated their eighth marriage anniversary in May this year.

After denying the reports and pleading privacy, the couple released a joint statement on Thursday.

“Yes, we are living separately. This decision has been taken with mutual respect and care for each other and our families. We are two best friends who may not be a couple anymore. But our friendship will continue as it always has, through thick and thin. Appreciate if no further speculation is made and heartfelt gratitude to everyone for all the love you have always given us,” read the official statement by Ridhi and Raqesh, as per a report in Hindustan Times.

The report further stated that the two had been living separately for quite some time. Their common friends knew about it and efforts were also made to mend the gap but apparently things didn’t fall in place.

Earlier when Spotboye texted Ridhi to get clarity on the rumours, she replied, "You have no right to talk about anyone's personal life. Stay away." On being asked whether they are going through a tough time, Ridhi reverted, "No, we are not. You are talking rubbish. Please stop this."

When the portal questioned Ridhi's close-friend Asha Negi on the same, she said, "Ridhi is my best friend. I am sorry and cannot comment on this."

Sargun Mehta also chose to remain silent. "Look, I am Ridhi's friend and I would know anything and everything, but I don't want to comment on this matter. I am not aware of anything," she said.

Ridhi and Raqesh first met on the sets of their show 'Maryaada Lekin Kab Tak?', and soon became friends. After a year of courtship, they decided to get married.

Riddhi’s brother, actor Akshay Dogra revealed to Hindustan Times that they are both doing well and that they often hang out together. When asked to comment on their separation, he said, “life shouldn’t be treated dramatically, it’s a choice to live happily and coexist with love and compassion.”
