Google is following in the footsteps of Apple, this time for a feature called 'Overview', which is essentially a fancy term for app switching.

Google will be rolling out its next-in-line Android P towards the end of the year, and with that, Android users will be learning a new way of interacting with their devices.

With the iPhone X comes the notch on the top and zero bezels at the bottom. This paved way for a new method of interacting and switching apps by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.

The same method will be incorporated in the upcoming Android version, Mashable reports. As more manufacturers are going bezel-less and introducing notch on their smartphones, it is imperative for the software to adapt to the change in order to deliver the best possible user experience. Google's new feature is a step in that direction.
