Former WWE female superstar Chyna was found dead on Wednesday night, possibly due to a drug overdose. She was one of the the greatest, if not the greatest woman to appear in a WWE ring. Here are seven things you may not know about her:

1) She debuted in 1997 as the bodyguard of Triple H: Chyna made her debut as a 'fan' on February 16, 1997 at the WWE event 'In Your House 13: Final Four'. She was brought in as the on-screen girlfriend and bodyguard of Triple H, and later as enforcer for the hugely popular stable D-Generation X.

2) She was the first woman to enter the Royal Rumble: Chyna was the first woman to ever enter the WWE Royal Rumble. In 1999, a match was held to determine the No 30 entrant into the Royal Rumble. The match involved the members of DX fighting the 'Corporation', a group of wrestlers allied to the owner, Vince McMahon. Towards the end of the match, Vince McMahon eliminated Big Boss Man and Triple H to apparently win the match. However, Chyna then made her way out as the last entrant into the match, shocking McMahon and the fans alike. With some interference from Stone Cold Steve Austin, Chyna then proceeded to eliminate Mr McMahon and become the No 30 entrant into the 1999 Royal Rumble.

At the Royal Rumble, Chyna eliminated the 400-pound Mark Henry before being herself eliminated by Stone Cold Steve Austin.

3) She won the Intercontinental Title on two occasions: In June 1999, Chyna became the first woman to qualify for the WWE King of the Ring tournament. Though she did not win the tournament, she wrestled Jeff Jarrett for the Intercontinental Championship at WWE's PPV Unforgiven, where she lost. She then had another match with Jarrett at No Mercy, labelled a "Good Housekeeping Match". Chyna won this match and became the Intercontinental Champion, the first and last woman to do so.

Chyna lost the title to Chris Jericho at Armageddon 1999 after beating him at Survivor Series. However, she became 'co-champion' with Jericho when both of them pinned each other on a WWE Smackdown show in December that year. She finally lost the title for the last time to Chris Jericho at the 2000 Royal Rumble.

4) She was once booked to beat Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWE Title: Between 1998 and 2001, Stone Cold Steve Austin was the top face in the WWE and the most popular superstar. But he was also reluctant to drop the title to several opponents, especially Triple H. Therefore, before Summerslam 1999, a plan was concoted wherein Chyna would face off against, and beat, Steve Austin for the WWE Championship at the event. Consequently, Chyna even defeated boyfriend Triple H for the No 1 contendership on an episode of RAW prior to the event. But in the end, WWE changed their mind and made the Summerslam main event a Triple Threat match between Mankind, Steve Austin and Triple H. Mankind won the match and the title by pinning Steve Austin.

5) She was the real-life girlfriend of Triple H: Before he met Stephanie McMahon, Triple H was in a relationship with Chyna for several years. From 1996 to 2000, Triple H and Chyna were an off-screen, real life couple. During the fall of 1999, Triple H got 'married' on-screen to Vince McMahon's daughter Stephanie McMahon. However, he soon began a real life relationship with her, ending his affair with Chyna. It has been alleged that Triple H's affair with Stephanie was responsible both for his break up with Chyna and her eventual departure from the company in 2001.

6) She became a porn star after her departure from WWE: Chyna left the company in late 2001 after being away from the ring for several months. While Chyna claims she was fired, WWE and announcer Jim Ross say she left on her own. Nevertheless, after a brief stint in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Chyna chose to make her first sex tape, with new boyfriend and former DX member X Pac (Sean Waltman). The couple sold the sex tape to the company that released Paris Hilton's celebrity sex tape, and it sold 1,00,000 copies. The tape was titled 1 Night in China. Chyna soon embarked on a full-fledged pornography career for the next few years.

7) WWE never inducted Chyna into the Hall of Fame: Chyna is the most significant female wrestler to ever work for the WWE. However, the WWE has never inducted her into their Hall of Fame. While initially, this may have been due to the heat between Chyna and WWE following her departure, her pornographic career later became a reason for her absence from the HoF. The WWE became a PG show in 2008, and began to avoid acknowledging Chyna's legacy and past achievements in the WWE. In 2015, Triple H, during an interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin on the latter's podcast, said that Chyna deserved to be in the WWE Hall of Fame but "problems with children Googling her" prevented it from happening. It remains to be seen whether Chyna is posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame now.
