PV Sindhu went down in a thrilling final against Japanese opponent Nozomi Okuhara in Glasgow on Sunday. Sindhu lost 19-21, 22-20, 20-22 in a match that lasted for one hour and fifty minutes. PV Sindhu squandered a six-points lead in the first game, but managed to win the second game despite Okuhara saving three game points. However the hardworking Japanese prevailed, finally winning the third game 22-20. Sindhu was leading 19-17 at one point, but a brilliant rearguard performance from Okuhara meant she won the gold. In the process, Okuhara avenged her Rio Olympics loss to PV Sindhu.
Sindhu has earlier won bronze in 2013 and 2014 Worlds. This time, she went one better but couldn't cross over the final barrier. India won two medals in World Championship, with Saina Nehwal winning a bronze too. She incidentally also lost to Nozomi Okuhara.
Twitter was all praise for PV Sindhu after the incredible match.
Here are the top reactions:

Congratulations Japan
When #Sindhu trends ahead of our cricketers while both matches are on shows the bright future of other sports in India apart from Cricket

Unimaginable few yrs ago. This is what happns whn non-cricketers deliver
if you are world class, people will watch/support. So don't ask why India only supports cricket; it watches sports India is good at.
