Throwback Thursday: When Cristiano Ronaldo-Bipasha Basu's linkup rumours took the internet by storm back in 2007

Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo is known for being a 'player' both on and off the pitch, as the 35-year-old has dated some huge names over the past decade.

From Irina Shayk and Nereida Gallardo to Merche Romero and now Georgina Rodriguez, Cristiano has dated numerous famous and gorgeous models while controversies continuously chased the Juventus goal-machine for many reasons.

Rewinding back to 2007, when Ronaldo and Bollywood actor Bipasha Basu became a hot topic when the two visited Lisbon's Luz stadium for a ceremony where the new seven wonders of the world were named. 

The two made their appearance on stage to entertain the crowd who were at the stadium but things heated up during the after party of the event when an English news outlet got their hands on some never seen before photographs.

As per the British tabloid, the then Manchester United winger and Bipasha got "physical" while partying at a Lisbon nightclub as pictures surfaced the internet of them kissing.

During this time, Bipasha was in a relationship with John Abraham, who had started dating back in 2003.

The photos of Ronaldo and Bipasha went instantly viral and John was reportedly left furious over it.

Speaking about her chance to meet Cristiano, Bipasha had said, "Meeting him was a dream come true. After the event, we went out clubbing, and that was simply fantastic."

"He is so cute and it was strange when he called me cute ... He is a friend now and he has promised me that I will be invited for all his matches," she added.

Rumours also have it that John was ready to call it quits on the relationship as he was absolutely fuming over it. In 2012, the Bollywood did part their ways and Bipasha is now happily married to Karan Singh Grover.
