Woman wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who was taken on a stretcher during her quarterfinal bout at the Rio Olympics, suffered a ligament tear and will take at least a week to recover, India's chef de mission Rakesh Gupta said on Wednesday.
Vinesh tweeted during early hours of Thursday about her condition. She said, "If I tell you that I am ok, it would be lying to myself and all of you. Right now I am hurt; both physically and mentally. I will recover soon. Thank you all."

"She does not have a bone injury. Only ligament tear in right knee. She has to take support. But there's no dislocation. Hopefully she will recover in one week," Gupta said. "But she will take about two-three days' to walk properly. She will take the help of a support." Vinesh's campaign was cut short after she hurt her right knee half-way into the first period of her 48kg quarterfinal fight against China's Sun Yanan.
The 21-year-old, who was touted as a medal prospect for India, was seen grimacing in pain as she was treated for about five minutes before being stretchered off for medical treatment.
