Hassan said that the initial response from the ICC came from the CEO Richardson, who said that they would investigate it ball-by-ball, and they would let them know after their analysis. The BCB president further clarified that board had reservations over umpiring decisions and did not mention anything about their opponents.
Concerned Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan has claimed that Mustafa Kamal's resignation as International Cricket Council (ICC) president is 'unfortunate'.
Hassan has also stated that the controversy arising from the India-Bangladesh quarterfinal would not affect cricketing relations between both the countries.
Hassan said that there was a meeting before the day of the final, adding that he couldn't, unfortunately, attend the meeting, The Express Tribune reported. He revealed that there it was decided that the chairman would give the trophy, adding that it is an exception in the ICC, claiming that it was unfortunate.
The BCB chief said that he heard a couple of hours ago that Kamal has resigned, insisting that this whole episode is unfortunate and added that it would have been better had it not happened.

Hassan also said that ICC Chief Executive Officer David Richardson has assured the BCB that the quarterfinal would be investigated for any mishaps ball-by-ball. He said that just after the Bangladesh-India match, they gave the ICC a letter containing their observations.
Hassan said that the initial response from the ICC came from the CEO Richardson, who said that they would investigate it ball-by-ball, and they would let them know after their analysis.
The BCB president further clarified that board had reservations over umpiring decisions and did not mention anything about their opponents.
Hassan said that he cannot find any reason for a strain in the relationship between India and Bangladesh, adding that it has nothing to do with the relation of these two countries. Hassan claimed that they are not complaining about a certain country, adding that they spoke about the umpiring and stressed on technology not being used when it was available, insisting that it happened more than once.
The ICC board will discuss the vacant position on April 15 and 16 and most probably BCB would be asked to forward a name for the remaining three months after which the new president would be sworn in, the report added.
