Belgium and France meet in the World Cup semi-final at the Saint Petersburg Stadium on Tuesday. 

1. SEMIS

Belgium have reached the World Cup semi-finals for only the second time, losing out to eventual winners Argentina in 1986. France have progressed to the World Cup semi-final for the sixth time, reaching the final twice - in 1998 and 2006.

2. STREAK

Roberto Martinez's side are unbeaten in 24 matches. Their last defeat in a competitive match was to Wales in the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.

3. GOALS

Belgium have scored more goals than any other team at the tournament (14). France have conceded just four goals in their five matches in the tournament. Didier Deschamps' side have scored with each of their last six shots on target at the tournament.

4. COLLECTIVE EFFORT

Belgium have had nine different goalscorers at this year's World Cup (excluding own goals). Only Italy in 2006 and France in 1982 (10 each) have ever had more in a single tournament.

5. STRIKERS 

Romelu Lukaku has scored 17 goals and made three assists in his last 13 Belgium appearances. Antoine Griezmann has netted seven goals in his past six appearances in the knockout stages of a major tournament.

6. MISSING 

Belgium full back Thomas Meunier will miss the match after being booked during the quarter-final against Brazil. France's Blaise Matuidi is available after a ban and is set to return in place of fellow midfielder Corentin Tolisso.

7. EUROPE 

The semi-final line up of the 2018 FIFA World Cup will feature an all-European cast. Such an occurrence has happened for only the fifth time in the history of the tournament, with the latest being 2006. The other three times where 1934 in Italy, 1966 in England and 1982 in Spain - all incidentally being European nations.

8. HEAD TO HEAD

The European rivals have a long history, facing each other 73 times. France have won 24, Belgium 30, with 19 draws. France have won all three of the previous meetings at major tournaments, including two World Cup encounters.
