The new year has brought gifts for lakhs of employees of the state of Chhattisgarh. The Bhupesh Baghel government has ordered the release of salary increment and arrears of state employees and officials. After this decision of the government, the increased salary of the state workers from July 1, 2020, will be released in January this year which will benefit five lakh employees.

After this order of the state government, the Finance department has issued orders to all the departments, after which the concerned departments have started preparing for the release of salary. The increase in salary was approved by the Baghel government on July 1, 2020. But due to the coronavirus pandemic, the employees were still getting the current salary.

The increased amount will be added to the salary from January 2021. The arrears from July 1, 2020, till December 31, 2020, will be also added to the upcoming salary.

This decision of the Baghel government has been welcomed by the employees of the state. However, due to this decision, an additional cost of Rs 300 crore will be incurred by the state government.

At the same time, no decision has been taken by the Central government regarding the salary raised in July 2020. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the central government had put a halt on the increase in the salary of central employees. At the same time, if the sources are to be believed, the government may increase the salary of central employees in April.
