An alleged Maoists was killed in encounter with police today in Bezarpalli area in Sironcha taluka of Gadchiroli district, police said today.
The shoot-out between a group of Maoists and a police platoon lasted about 45 minutes before the extremists fled, said the police.
A body of a Maoists was recovered from the site. Police also claimed that at least four to five naxals must have been wounded seriously.
Police also recovered a 303 rifle, a country-made pistol and 29 rounds besides a grenade.
