Five passengers were killed and 40 others injured when two buses collided near Sillod town of the district in Maharashtra, police said on Friday.
Sixteen of those injured were reported to be serious.
A private video coach carrying pilgrims and the Asiad bus of MSRTC collided with each other near the Chinchkheda village, seven kms from the Sillod town, last night at around 11.30pm in which five persons were killed on the spot, police said.
All the deceased were passengers of the video coach, police said, adding that two of them were identified as - B R Sonawane (37) and Srikant Joshi (70).
The injured passengers from both the buses were admitted to the sub-district hospital at Sillod while those seriously wounded were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Aurangabad, they added.
