Gujarat: 3 killed in Danilimda scrap shop blast, reason unknown

Three people died and two more were injured in a mysterious blast that took place inside a shop selling scrap in Danilimda area on Thursday evening. The incident took place at around 5:30pm in a shop named Asif Bangarwala in Apsara complex located in the Danilimda area. According to fire officials, they were not informed about the incident until an hour after it took place.

When the officials reached the spot, the fire had already been extinguished and there were three bodies inside the shop. Regarding the matter, the Danilimda police were informed, who reached the spot and started an investigation.

Chief fire officer M F Dastoor stated that, "We didn't get a call regarding the incident. We came to know only later through sources. We made an inquiry with 108 emergencies service, confirmed it and then the vehicles were rushed to the spot. When our team reached the spot, there were three dead bodies lying inside the shop, but we were not able to identify what had initiated the blast."

The deceased were identified as Rafiq Chipa (49), Bhartiben Arvind Bhai (25) and Farid Dhanera (52). The injured were identified as Arif (32) and Imanudin (30), who were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Regarding the matter, a complaint was lodged with Danilimda police station and investigation is on. As per police officials, right now, the reason behind the blast has not been revealed. The FSL team was called to the spot to investigate and further investigation will reveal what actually happened.

Inspector H S Chavda of Danilimda police station said, "Right now, we suspect that it was a cylinder blast, but while checking the crime spot, we were not able to find any cylinders. Once we receive the FSL report, it will reveal what actually happened."

THE VICTIMS

The deceased were identified as Rafiq Chipa (49), Bhartiben Arvind Bhai (25) and Farid Dhanera (52). The injured were identified as Arif (32) and Imanudin (30)
