The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has requested schools, parents and students to give their opinion on the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system. The board wants feedback on CCE in order to reform and strengthen the scheme. Since schools are currently closed due to the Ganpati festival, not many are aware of the circular recently uploaded by the CBSE.

The CCE scheme helps students develop cognitive, psychomotor and affective skills. It also lays stress on thought process over standard memorisation. The recently uploaded circular for principals, teachers, parents and students states that the CBSE is in the process of reforming and strengthening the CCE.

Hence, the board wants to get feedback on the scheme from the stakeholders. The objective of the study, according to the board, is to understand acceptance and adoption of CCE by stakeholders, examine challenges in its implementation and establish the support structure needed for teachers to use the scheme. The stakeholders have been requested to give free and frank opinion, which will be kept confidential by the board.

Raj Aloni, principal of Kharghar's Ramsheth Thakur Public School, said: "Maybe this is part of the new education policy. I have not seen the circular as our school is closed for the Ganpati festival. As soon as it opens, we will check what instructions the board has sent."

Anjali Bowen, Principal of Ryan International School, Kandivli, said: "I saw the circular and I think the CBSE could be planning a modification in the CCE scheme. It is good that the board is asking for feedback from its stakeholders."
