MUMBAI
A 40-year-old man killed his wife (37) after a quarrel went out of hand. The two, from Hajimalang Road, Kolshewadi, Kalyan west, got married in 2004, and used to quarrel often. In 2007, the wife underwent psychiatrist treatment.
Around 3.30 in the morning on Tuesday (Sept 9), the woman, (Seema Gandakush) took kerosene and started pouring it on her husband. The husband, Kiran Gandakush, got angry and in a fit of rage pinned her to the ground and strangled her. After this he went to the police station and surrendered.
The Kolshewadi police arrested him and produced him in court.
SL Daule, senior police inspector in Kolshewadi police station, said: "We arrested the accused and produced him in court. We have booked him under IPC section 302 (punishment for murder). The body was sent for post mortem. The victim's brother has taken possession of the body to conduct final rites."
