Wary MLAs Maskarade in House

A day after the Jalore MLA, Amrita Meghwal, was spotted roaming freely in the Assembly despite being “aware” of the fact that she had tested positive for Swine flu, the administration, it seems has now woken from the slumber.

Over 26 legislators got their tests done for Swine Flu at the Assembly on Wednesday. This is after Tuesday episode when swine flu positive BJP MLA Amrita Meghwal was in assembly. The legislators who got their tests done today are majorly the ones who came in contact with her. 

The medical department also went door to door to check the homes of 50 MLAs who live around the house of Meghwal. The family members and domestic help were screened by the medical team and administered medications to them.  

CMHO Dr Narottam Sharma told DNA, “Total 15 MLAs were tested for swine flu. Their results will come by Thursday.”

“Yes, I have got the test for swine flu done. I am not suffering from any symptoms, but have got it done as a precautionary measure,” said Madan Rathore 

“Our teams surveyed 50 homes of legislators around Amrita Meghwal’s home. We have given them precautionary Tamiflu medicines. There were no others who showed symptoms of the disease,” said CMHO Sharma. 

Seeing the swine flu threat in the state, the medical and health department has also issued masks to the guards and security personnel at the assembly. 

With swine flu threat rampant in the state the current case of a legislator moving about in public place has created a panic among the legislators. Over the last 151 days 976 persons have been tested swine flu positive and 88 deaths have occurred due to the disease. BJP lost its Mandalgarh MLA Kirti Kumari to swine flu.
