Jaipur’s Bruce Lee is martial of 10 arts

At a time when an individual spends countless years mastering just one skill, a 32-year-old man from Jaipur has mastered not one or two, but 10 different forms of martial arts. 

What’s more, the man not only receive a black belt - the highest in any form of martial arts depicting an individual’s proficiency - but has become the youngest master in Asia to have achieved the feat, which has now been included in the India Book of Records.

Meet Shriram Choudhary, the man who has achieved the unique distinction early in his life. 

“I was five years old when I was introduced to karate and I started off in the field,” Choudhary said. A few years later, he moved to Japan for further training where he received a black belt in a record time of one year. Three  years after this feat, he completed his taekwondo training. “My interest developed in the field and I wanted to learn new fighting styles. I then underwent training for kickboxing in the USA, Shaolin kung-fu in China, pensak cilat in Malaysia, muay-thai in Bangkok and tai-chi in China,” he added. 

He has also mastered martial arts like the tang soo do - Korean martial arts, jiu-jitsu, and even jeet kune do - a hybrid philosophy of martial arts heavily influenced by the personal philosophy and experiences of martial artist Bruce Lee.

Interestingly, he has also been awarded the respectable title of “Monk” from Shaolin kung-fu school. 

Over the past 20 years, Choudhary received training in arms like the samurai sword in which he holds the rank of a master and the stick. And
