More than a dozen councillors of the city are dreaming of going to the assembly. In order to fulfill this dream, the councillors have been working hard in their assembly constituency area for the last six months, so that the party gives them the ticket of legislator and they can finally reach the assembly. These councillors include Jaipur mayor Ashok Lahoti and deputy mayor Manoj Bhardwaj.

The Jaipur Municipal Corporation of 91 wards has maximum councillors of BJP. For this, the BJP also has the highest ticket-seekers councillors. The BJP had given the ticket to former mayor Mohan Lal Gupta and Ashok Parnami and both are sitting legislators of the ruling party.

Apart from this, the BJP had also given the ticket to former mayor Sheel Dhabhai, but she had lost the election. Mayor Ashok Lahoti, who is excited with the tradition of giving tickets to the mayor in BJP, is also preparing to become the legislator.

In 2008, BJP made Lahoti candidate from the Civil Lines legislative assembly constituency and during this, he lost the election. In the last assembly elections, the party gave tickets to Arun Chaturvedi instead of Lahoti. and this time Lahoti wants the ticket from Sanganer assembly constituency. For this, the mayor is continuously visiting Sanganer area. He has done the highest development works in Sanganer assembly constituency in the past two years.

In addition, BJP’s two councillors Vishnu Lata and Mukesh Lakhyani are also claiming the Sanganer seat, which is considered as Brahmin seat. Therefore, Lata is presenting its strong claim as a Brahmin candidate. On the other hand, deputy Mayor Manoj Bhardwaj is active in the Hawa Mahal assembly constituency.

BJP councillor Bhawani Singh Rajawat wants to become a legislator from the Vidyadhar Nagar assembly constituency and is presently a councillor from Ward 31 of the Civil Lines assembly constituency.

He has been spending more time in Vidyadhar Nagar assembly area for the last one year. Vidyadhar Nagar seat is considered as the Rajput seat, hence, Rajawat is claiming his stronghold in the area. Likewise, senior BJP leader and councillor Ashok Garg is preparing to make a claim from the Malviya Nagar assembly constituency. Apart from this, Vimlesh Meena will be the probable candidate from Jamwa Ramgarh assembly constituency and Navratan Naraniya from Bagru assembly constituency.
