CM Vasundhara Raje inaugurates 19 panoramas in Rajasthan

The state government is currently in process of making 48 panoramas at the cost of Rs 150 crore

On the occasion of  World Tourism Day, chief minister Vasundhara Raje inaugurated and laid foundation of 19 panoramas  in Jaipur on Thursday. These panoramas are spread across the state and include panoramas of Nimbakacharya at Salemabad in Ajmer; Veer Tejaji panorama and guru Jhambhoji ji panorama in Nagaur; Saint Peepaji panorama in Jhalwar and Krishna Bhakt Ali Baksh panorama in Alwar.

Raje inaugurated these panoramas from the chief minister residence on Thursday morning before leaving for Nagaur to resume Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra in Ajmer division.

The state government is currently in process of making 48 panoramas  at the cost of Rs 150 crore across the state, out of which the work on 44 have already been completed.

Speaking on the occasion, Raje said that that the people of the state have faith in folk deities, saints and heroes and it is keeping this in mind that panoramas of saints and heroes in every area of the state have been constructed. 

“These panoramas will conserve the heritage and culture of the state and will help our future generations know about our history,” Raje said. The CM also inaugurated tourist spots and facilities there.

She mentioned that the state government is working to renovate 125 temples situated in the state at the cost of Rs 625 crore.

Since foundation stone laying ceremony of Jasnath Panorama in Bikaner also took place, union minister Arjun Meghwal, who represents Bikaner in Lok Sabha, was also present on the occasion. Barmer MLA Kailash Choudhary, chairman of Rajasthan heritage development and protection authority Onkar Singh Lakhawat were also present.

Several people from various sections of the society thanked Raje for getting the panoramas ready and for undertaking renovation work of temples in the state.

Raje had mentioned about these works undertaken by her government while addressing people in Merta city during a public meeting on the first day of Gaurav Yatra in Nagaur division.

WHAT IS PANORAMA?

State government has undertaken construction of  statues of saints, folk deities and local heroes in several regions. Along with that, the areas are also decorated with photographs, literature material concerning the particular deity to make people aware about their achievements. For instance, the recent panorama of Deendayal Upadhyaya has on display information about his works and life.

48 PANORAMAS

The government has undertaken the task of making 48panorama in various parts of the state. Till now, inauguration of 30 have been done. This includes 16 which were inaugurated while foundation stone of 3 were laid on Thursday. Work on remaining 18 is currently underway. Though, financial sanction for some is awaited. A total cost of Rs 150 crore is being spent on making these panoramas.

NOT FREE OF COST

Visit to these panoramas is not free of cost. As per the policy of department of art and culture, visitors need to pay for the tickets if they wish to see the monuments. Adults will be charged Rs 10 and for children the ticket price is Rs 5.
