BJP to release schedule for star campaigners on Friday

This Friday, the BJP is expected to release schedule for its star campaigners for the by-poll elections. The campaigning of BJP in Alwar, Ajmer and Mandalgarh is set to gain pace as the party cadre and senior ministers who were previously partly occupied with the Barmer refinery work commencement mega show are now free to take on the poll challange. 

“A schedule for the star campaigners and major public gatherings in the by-election constituencies is expected to arrive by January 20,” said BJP office secretary, Mukesh Chelawat. 

“However, even as some of the party workers were occupied with the refinery function, senior party senior leaders and local party cadre have been active in the constituencies to undergo by-polls,” he added. 

BJP at present been focusing on training-motivating the party cadre in the two parliamentary constituencies and one Assembly constituency to go for by-elections. Leading the command are party state in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna and state president Ashok Parnami. 

“Voters are more aware now, they are not easily lured by promises and speeches at public gathering. A more personal touch is through direct approach and that is what we have been trying to achieve,” a senior BJP leader explained how the party’s focus was on smaller meetings during initial phase of campaigning. 

The personal approach has also become vital as the BJP has been faced with blatant opposition of Rajput community groups. The Rajput community has been considered a traditional vote bank of BJP in Rajasthan and their anguish may affect the party’s chances. 

However, the time for these meetings is running out as the election date closes in. The BJP previously rolled out a list of star campaigners that included PM Modi and party national president Amit Shah.
