Ashok Gehlot magic in Alwar, Sachin Pilot power in Ajmer

Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot conducted a roadshow at Alwar constituency as state Congress president Sachin Pilot was showing his strength in Ajmer before the deadline for campaigning ended on Saturday evening.

In a display of their mass popularity, these leaders attempted to draw support for the party and convince the masses to vote for their candidates. The two parliamentary constituencies along with the assembly constituency of Mandalgarh are set to go for polling on Monday. 

Along with the show of strength, the leaders also made the events a stage to take a dig at the BJP government at the state and Centre. Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sachin Pilot alleged that BJP leaders of playing caste politics at a public gathering following.

“BJP leaders have stoop down to segregate votes on religious and caste lines, and this attitude is not only a violation of the model code of conduct but also against democratic fundamentals,” said Pilot at a public meeting. 

Ajmer, being a former parliamentary constituency of PCC chief Sachin Pilot, also has on stake his reputation as well as party candidate Raghu Sharma’s. During a roadshow on Saturday, he also had star power: Actor and Congress leader Raj Babbar. 

As Congress supporters emerged in large number, Pilot said the mass turnout was a reflection of public sentiment, who he said were seeking a change in governance.

Meanwhile, Ashok Gehlot charmed voters at Alwar with his charisma in favour of Congress candidate Karan Singh Yadav. Gehlot decided to return to Jaipur by train and he was flanked by a huge number of supporters at the station.
