Watch Zee Media Exclusive: World is not free as long as the last child on earth is freed from slavery, says Kailash Satyarthi

Child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi spoke to Zee News in Oslo before being awarded the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize.

For the first time in the world, the most marginalised children have been heard in one of the world largest platforms of the world, he said, adding, "I congratulate India as the award is for all our countrymen and not just to me." 

"The Nobel Peace Prize must encourage every Indian to take up the issues of child rights. Every Indian has to become Kailash Satyarthi," he said, saying that the onus is now on every Indian to fight for child rights.

Satyarthi will be sharing the award with Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai. Citing the young education activist as an example, he spoke on the importance of a daughter in every family. Satyarthi said he hoped every house has a daughter as brave as her.

Satyarthi also spoke about his commitment to continue his battle against child slavery after receiving the award. "I do not consider the world free untill the last child on earth is freed from slavery. The world will be a dangerous place if even one child faces the perils of slavery, abuse, atrocities etc," he said.
