However, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has confirmed the death of one Kerala resident, Raseena, who was in Sri Lanka with her husband.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has extended all help required to Sri Lanka, and said India is "deeply shocked" to hear about the tragic and barbaric act. Several other political leaders, including Arun Jaitley, Amit Shah, Rahul Gandhi, Piyush Goyal, etc, also condemned the attack.

Family members of Indians visiting Sri Lanka may contact the helpline or reach out to the Indian High Commission in Colombo for help. "I am in constant touch with the Indian High Commissioner in Colombo. We are keeping a close watch on the situation. We are closely monitoring the situation."
