Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that people should not believe in 'hearsay' and 'rumours' on the do's and dont's regarding the prevention of coronavirus, but instead consult their respective doctors on the issue.

" I request people to not believe in hearsay and rumours on what to do and what not to do on #coronavirus, whatever doubts you have please consult your doctor," Modi said.

The Prime Minister also advised people to avoid any physical contact as much as possible, and instead of using handshakes, he urged the citizens of the country to use the traditional greeting of 'namaste' to greet people.

Moreover, Modi also interacted with the with owners of Jan Aushadhi Kendras and beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojna.

Interacting with the beneficiaries of Bhartiya Janaushadi Pariyojana, Prime Minister said, "Janaushadhi Day is not just a day to celebrate a scheme, but a day to connect with millions of Indians, millions of families, who have got great relief because of this scheme."

The above-mentioned scheme was launched in 2014 to provide good quality and affordable medicines to the people through special kendras known as Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra. It aims to provide generic drugs at lesser prices compared to branded drugs.
