Robert Vadra and his close aide Manoj Arora, accused by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case, have been granted interim protection from arrest till March 2 by the Special CBI court on Saturday. The ED informed the court that Vadra has been non-cooperative during his questioning.

It was the first time that Vadra had made his appearance in the court. The ED counsel first began the argument by saying that he comes with a "baraat".

"Bheed baraat ke saath aate hain" (he comes with a wedding party) referring to the media. He has been non-cooperative during the questioning and hence the probing agency needs to further question him," said the counsel appearing for ED.

The ED counsel further stated that Vadra in a recent post on social media had accused the probing agency of harassing him and pressurizing him.

KTS Tulsi appearing for Vadra stated that he was questioned for three days by the ED. "He was questioned on February 6,7,9 for a total period of 23 hours and 25 minutes," said Tulsi.

Arora and Vadra will join the investigation as and when called by the Investigating Officer (IO). The matter has been put up for March 2 at 2pm.

Vadra took on Twitter and stated that it was relentless harassment. "I have had nothing to hide and I am surely not above the law. I have deposed for almost six days ranging from 8 to 12 hours per day with a 40-minute lunch break, and have been escorted to the washroom," read the post.

"Attachment of my workplace my office and areas that are sub judice shows a complete misuse of assertion of power, a complete vindictive and vicious witch-hunt. When truth sustains and prevails, I suppose an apology is all that will suffice," added Vadra in the post.
