Nitish Kumar answers Lalu Prasad's limerick with 'munadi'

A day after his arch rival Lalu Prasad wrote an eight-line limerick targeting him, chief minister Nitish Kumar today coined a munadi (proclamation by beat of drum) in an attempt to silence Prasad.

Taking inspiration from noted munadi writer Dharmaveer Bharati, who had taken the Congress to task after veteran socialist Jayaprakash Narayan was attacked on November 4, 1974, Kumar wrote a parody of his inspiring piece to flay the RJD boss.

"Khalak Khuda Ka, Mulk Badshah Ka, Hukma Shahar Kotwal Ka, Har Khasoaam ko, Agah Kiya Jata Hai Ki Maharaja Kayapalat Padhar Rahe hain, Apane Apane Gharon Se Bahar Nikalkar Apni Paanch Saal Ki Puri Kamai Karinodon Ko Saunp De warna Sood ka Dar Barh Jayega" (Attention all creature of god under the world of king, by the diktat of Shahar Kotwal: common people should come out of their houses with whatever they earned during the past five years to deposit them to the musclemen of Mr Turnaround, failing which, they will have to pay at a hiked interest rate), the munadi coined by Kumar reads.

The munadi projected his oft-repeated charge against Lalu Prasad that people were aware of the fact that in the event of the RJD-LJP combine coming to power, it would make up the loss it incurred for being out of power for five months with compound interests.

Apparently referring to Prasad introducing his son as 'a trainee politician' during a press meet in Patna yesterday, Kumar said, "This is the difference which you people see between me and others."

"While I believe in delivering goods and develop Bihar, the others focus on the welfare of their own faimilies," he sarcastically remarked, but refused to take questions on Lalu's youngest son plea that he would 'clean up Nitish Chacha'.

Asked if the ongoing personal attacks were 'in good taste', the chief minister said, "I don't believe in personal attack. You can go and ask them... you might have by now come to know that they have launched a personal attack against me," he pointed out.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad had yesterday coined an eight-line limerick in a new line of attack against Nitish.

Prasad said he had himself composed the limerick which said Kumar made people cry during floods and drought and so it was time for the chief minister to go.
