According to fire brigade officials, the leakage of chlorine from the water tower meant for the purification of water. According to fire brigade officials, they tried to stop the leakage but failed.
The fire brigade evacuated neighbouring building to ensure no other residents came in harm’s way.
"Seven persons are being treated and are stable. The leakage has been controlled and preventive measures have been taken.", said Prakash Borde, Chief Fire Officer, MBMC fire brigade department.
