Man strangulates wife to death in Gaune-Ponda

A teenage love that resulted in a romantic marriage ended in a brutal murder. Atish Naik killed his wife Tanuja, after two years of their marriage, by strangulating her.

He murdered her in his cousin’s house at Gaune-Ponda late on Monday night. Police arrested Atish in the wee hours of Tuesday. Police sources say he took this drastic step suspecting infidelity by his wife.

As per a family member of Atish, both of them were in love since the age of 15. They married despite facing firm opposition from Tanuja’s parents.
