MP bypolls results 2020: Imarti Devi claims victory; calls it voters' reply to Kamal Nath's 'Item' jibe

Gwalior: BJP candidate from Dabra seat in Madhya Pradesh by-election, Imrati Devi, claimed her victory after seeing an edge in the initial trends. Congress candidate Suresh Raje is trailing. Imarti Devi said, "It is understandable in the initial trend that BJP is winning in Madhya Pradesh, people are responding to the abuses by Kamal Nath." 

Kamal Nath's victory in Madhya Pradesh On the claim, Imrati Devi said, "There is nothing wrong in making claims."

 

Kamal Nath had called Imarti Devi 'item'

Let me tell you that Imarti Devi also joined Congress with Jyotiraditya Scindia and left BJP. She was the Minister of Women and Child Development in the Kamal Nath government, and she has got the responsibility of this department in the Shivraj government as well. Addressing a public meeting in Dabra during the by-election campaign, Kamal Nath called Imrati Devi an 'item.' There were many controversies. Reacting to Kamal Nath's statement, Imrati Devi started crying bitterly in front of the media.

For the first time in Madhya Pradesh, by-elections were held in 28 assembly seats of the 230-member House. By-elections in these 25 seats were necessary as the sitting Congress MLAs resigned and joined the BJP. They contested by-elections as BJP candidates.

In the remaining three assembly constituencies, by-elections were held due to the demise of the sitting MLAs. Another Congress MLA recently resigned. The BJP currently has 107 MLAs, while the Congress has 87 MLAs in the House.
