The migrant crisis in Gujarat has left industries in the state worried. With production disrupted in several manufacturing clusters in north Gujarat, particularly ahead of the festive season, worried commerce bodies are urging all stakeholders for prompt intervention. Amid ongoing migrant crisis in Gujarat, BSP chief Mayawati has attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not helping the workers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. 

Mayawati took on the Prime Minister and said that, ‘it was sad that people who voted and made Modi ji win from Varanasi are being targeted in Gujarat.’ 

She also said that, ‘The BJP government in Gujarat should ensure that strict action is taken against those responsible for such attacks.’

The migrant crisis in Gujarat has left industries in the state worried. With production disrupted in several manufacturing clusters in north Gujarat, particularly ahead of the festive season, worried commerce bodies are urging all stakeholders for prompt intervention. 

Meanwhile, assuring security to the migrants, the Gujarat government on Monday said 431 people have been arrested and 56 FIRs registered in connection with the violence. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani appealed to people not to engage in violence. 

Sanand, the emerging auto hub, has borne the brunt of the exodus. About 4,000 of the 14,000 migrant workers in the area have headed home. Ajit Shah, president of Sanand Industries Association said, "We have managed to hold back the remaining workers. We are trying to assure them about their safety."

The Gujarat state police have nabbed two Thakor Sena members and a Congress party member for their involvement in provoking and spreading messages on social media against migrants from UP and Bihar in Gujarat, over the case of rape of a 14-month-old-girl in Sabarkantha. Adalaj police, on Monday, nabbed five Thakor community members along with elected taluka member from Congress Mahotji Thakor for threatening a migrant in Uvarsad village near Adalaj area on October 2 night.
