In a historic and path-breaking movie, the members of the all-powerful G20 Summit decided to adopt the New Delhi Declaration floated by the Indian delegation in an effort to improve global relations and take a step forward for equitable growth.

Apart from the adoption of the new pact of the G20 Summit, all the world leaders also shared a ‘100 percent consensus’ on the issue of the Russia-Ukraine war, which has led to thousands of deaths and billions of dollars spent by the two countries.

The impact of the Russia-Ukraine war was felt in the economy of every major nation, and the G20 Summit in India saw all prominent countries stand together against the war for the first time, adopting the principles mentioned in the Delhi Declaration.

While touching on the war with Ukraine, all the members of the G20 Summit reiterated the stance of their countries and echoed the UN Charter. While Russia was not mentioned by name, all the countries displayed ‘100% Consensus’ to condemn the use of excessive force for territorial gain.

Further, one paragraph of the New Delhi Declaration also talked about a resolution to condemn the use of force for territorial acquisition, which is currently what is happening between Russia and Ukraine. All the countries agreed to the terms mentioned in the resolution.

The G20 Summit pact also touched on sustainable growth and environmental issues, stating, “We recognize that the impacts of climate change are being experienced worldwide, particularly by the poorest and the most vulnerable.”

G20 has now vowed to help developing and vulnerable nations apply clean and sustainable energy sources and support their energy transition.

Speaking about fair trade and unrestricted access to agriculture and food, the declaration reads, “We encourage efforts to strengthen research cooperation on climate-resilient and nutritious grains such as millets, quinoa, sorghum, and other traditional crops including rice, wheat, and maize.”
