For BJP & Congress , it was a day of complaints

Cong filed a complaint against BJP MP Sushma Swaraj while BJP complained against MLA Tulsi Silawat.

As model code of conduct came to force three days ago, complaints and counter complaints from ruling and opposition parties against each other of its violation.

However, a decision in the first complaint of violation of model code of conduct against BJP for formation of IDA board is still pending with Election Commission of India (ECI). State vice-president of BJP SC cell Rajesh Sonkar has lodged a complaint against Sanver MLA Tulsi Silawat.

In the complaint sent to the chief election officer, Sonkar said that Silawat took credit of development works accomplished by the state government. He also claimed credit of development works accomplished under MPLAD.

Silawat had published an advertisement in this regard in a local daily on October 5, a day after enforcement of model code of conduct, alleged Sonkar.

He said Silawat used the photograph of Prime Minister and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in the advertisement which is violation of the code of conduct.

Sonkar has urged the CEO to take action against Silawat and declare him ineligible for contesting election.

Congress has filed a complaint against BJP accusing MP Sushma Swaraj of violating model code of conduct.

Congress spokesperson Narendra Saluja said Sushma Swaraj highlighted the schemes undertaken by BJP government and chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan during a religious programme organised on the occasion of Navratri in Mhow on Tuesday. Saluja said Swaraj also posed as Goddess Durga during the function. He said that a complaint has been lodged with ECI, the CEO and district election officer in this regard.
