Bihar election 2020: India Today-Axis My India predicts absolute majority for Tejashwi Yadav's Mahagathbandhan

Just like Today's Chanakya, India Today-Axis My India has projected a major win for Tejashwi Yadav led Mahagathbandhan in Bihar Assembly elections 2020. 

According to the Survey, the RJD and the Congress together are expected to win between 139 to 161 seats in Bihar Vidhan Sabha Chunav. This is an absolute majority in the 243 member assembly.  

Tejashwi Yadav-led Mahagathbandhan will secure 44 per cent vote share in Bihar said the survey. The NDA is likely to get 39 per cent vote share while the LJP will get only 7 per cent. 

Remaining parties will together bag 12 per cent of total votes cast in the Bihar Vidhan Sabha Chunav 2020.

Exit Poll has predicted that Tejashwi Yadav-led Mahagathbandhan will add 40 seats in its kitty as compared to the 2015 Bihar polls, whereas the NDA is likely to lose 45 seats.

NDA alliance comprising of Janata Dal (United) contested on 122 seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fought on 121 seats. 

The Mahgathbandhan or grand alliance consists of  Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) which fought on 144 seats, Congress-70 seats, Communist Party of India (CPI)-6 seats, Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI(M)-4 seats and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) or CPI(ML)-19 seats.

The polls to elect a new 243-member assembly were held in 3 phases. 

 In the first phase Bihar Assembly election held on October 28,  71 assembly constituencies went to polls. 

The second phase was held on November 3 in which 94 assembly seats went to polls, while in the third and final phase on November 7 polling was done on 78 seats. The counting of votes will take place on November 10. 

According to the poll panel, there were 7.29 crore voters in the state, including 3.85 crore male and 3.4 crore female voters and 1.6 lakh service voters.
