We’ve both been busy: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on working with Sujoy Ghosh

Exactly a year ago, at Cannes, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had announced that she’s working with Sujoy Ghosh for his next. Cannes 2016 has passed by and their talks haven’t materialised yet. One of the projects that the two discussed was Durga Rani, which has now officially been made into Kahaani 2 with Vidya Balan after a little tweaking. Where does that leave Ash?

She explains, “We started discussing and zeroed in on these two mutually agreed subjects around a year-and-a-half back”. So, why the delay? She reasons, “I got busy with Jazbaa and Sarbjit and he’s producing a couple of films. He’s been busy as well.” Sujoy is donning the producer’s hat for Big B’s TE3N and is busy shooting for Kahaani 2 in Kolkata.
Durga Rani isn’t happening anymore then. But she does hint that the other film will indeed be made. “We will take it forward from here on. Thanks for the nudge to both of us through this question.”
