It further reads, “Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief. During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation. “Claire will forever remain in our hearts, her absence leaving an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.”

Lil Tay rose to fame when she was just 9 because of her controversial content, which often came littered with slurs. She had issued a public apology for her use of derogatory language in 2018. She said, “I really apologize to everyone I offended … I’m not racist at all.” She had more than 3 million followers on Instagram.

Social media users reacted to her death, one of them wrote, “I’m in absolute shock at the news of Claire Hope (online personality Lil Tay) has apparently passed, as well as her brother. They were both so young and had so much life ahead of them. How can this happen so suddenly. She was 14. She had so much to do still. That hurts.”

The second one said, “have no idea who she is but w** is going on with LilTay? Is she dead? Did her family lie about it? W**??” The third one said, “Police should do a welfare check at the home of Lil Tay.”
