The glam girl will be the add-on hostess in the show ‘Great Indian Laughter Challenge-3’.
Anchor of the show ‘Extraa Innings’, Shonali Nagrani has returned from her hectic tour of eight countries in the West Indies.
Now, Shonali is set to start her second innings, this time with comedy. This weekend onwards, the glam Shonali will be the add-on hostess in the show ‘Great Indian Laughter Challenge-3’ (Star One). Anchor Parizaad Kolah-Marshall already features in the show.
Why did she move from cricket to comedy? “I can relate to the typical North Indian brand of humour expressed by most of the contestants. I will also get to interact with judge Navjyot Sidhu, whom I met during the Champions Trophy series,” she smiles. Does she fear being overshadowed by hostess Parizaad ? “Not at all! In fact, we will not appear together. Since it’s going to be a bi-weekly, Parizaad would be hosting the Friday episodes while I will be presenting the Saturday ones,” she states.
Is it true that being extra-adventurous she almost fell off a 750 feet high cliff whilst in the West Indies? “While trekking on a cliff in Guyana I came across a rainbow. I precariously bent over the edge of the cliff to touch it. It was risky but ecstatic,” she reveals.
She continues further, “Later, I swayed to a Calypso dance on a speed-boat and sailed on an open river boat through a dense rain forest in darkness.”
Often spotted partying with construction tycoon and “close friend” Ashish Raheja, Shonali is also keen to do films. Incidentally, Shonali was to be part of the Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Zeher’ but couldn’t due to the delay in the film’s taking off. “Being an alumnus of the National School of Drama, acting is my passion. I want to do intense roles in meaningful or crossover cinema,” she signs off.
