Plea for action against 'Singh is King' actors dismissed

A local court today dismissed a petition seeking direction for registration of a case against Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif and 15 others alleging that their work in the film Singh is King has hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community.

Judicial magistrate First Class OP Bohara dismissed the petition stating, "it appears that it has been filed to draw a cheap publicity."

Inderjeet Singh Bhatia filed the petition on September 8, 2008 , months after the release of Singh is Kinng, stating that some scenes of the film brought disrespect to the Sikh community. It came up for hearing today.
