SP Balasubrahmanyam, who is receiving treatment for coronavirus, continues to remain in critical condition. He is still on Ventilator and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support in the ICU at MGM Healthcare, confirmed a press bulletin from the hospital.

National and international experts have collaborated with the team of clinicians to treat Balasubrahmanyam. SPB's vital parameters, which were satisfactory on August 19, are being closely monitored currently.

The note read:

"Thiru S P Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare due to COVID-19 continues to be critical on Ventilator and ECMO support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Our multi-disciplinary team of clinicians have been actively collaborating with national and international experts, and continue to closely monitor his vital parameters."

It was previously reported that actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan would pray for the singer's speedy recovery. While neither Rajini nor Haasan could be seen, 'Baahubali' actor Satyaraj did pray for SPB virtually along with other South Indian film celebs.

Balasubrahmanyam's son SP Charan had confirmed the news of the renowned singer being on ventilator on Tuesday itself. He had also stated that a team of experts is examining him.

SPB was admitted to the hospital on August 5, 2020. Renowned celebrities from the South Indian film industry, like Rajinikanth, Sivakumar and others wished him a speedy recovery.
