Bipasha Basu's heart is broken

It could be co-incidence, but actress Bipasha Basu has chosen to be with her family at a time when former beau, actor John Abraham came clean on their break-up on national television. Bipasha has put all her work on hold and gone back to Kolkata to be with her family.

While the official version is that one of her immediate family members is not keeping well, her detractors insist that the actress chose to stay away from the buzz that John’s interview has created.

“John never used to have a publicity machinery of his own. He never bothered about it. But now after the break-up with Bipasha, he has hired a full fledged publicity machinery of his own. It was Bipasha who first announced that she had broken up with John and that she had moved on. John kept quiet all along, but then Simi’s show happened and changed the equation,” says a source.

The show was apparently heavily edited and a few portions where John talks about Bipasha’s contribution in his life were edited out. Only the portions where he talked about the break-up were retained. “John spoke a lot of good things about Bipasha, but he is upset that those never saw the light of the day but the part where he talks about the break-up has never been edited at all,” the source adds. It, however,  had the required effect —  Bipasha decided to go to Kolkata around a week later (the show was aired on July 10).

“Bipasha doesn’t go to Kolkata often. Last year she was supposed to go there with John. It would’ve been a trip home after seven years. It was supposed to be a meet-the-parents thing, but John couldn’t make it,” continues the source.

Bipasha’s spokesperson also said that she has “travelled to Kolkata for some personal reasons”.

The actress apparently has been getting offers to talk about her break-up with John.

“There’s no truth to this at all,” says Bipasha’s spokesperson.
