Amid the growing demand for the postponement of NEET 2021 entrance exam, over 1400 students have signed an online petition on change.org demanding the postponement of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2021 or NEET 2021.

It may be recalled that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has already announced that the NEET 2021 entrance exam will be held as per scheduled.

In the petition, the students claimed that the NEET 2021 entrance exam is clashing with several state and national level UG entrance exams and the CBSE private exams and the NEET 2021 entrance exam must be postponed in order to avoid this clash. Notably, NEET 2021 entrance exam is scheduled to take place on September 12 in offline mode and the students are demanding that the NTA must postponed the exam to October.

“We request the Education Minister and the NTA to take the wise decision of postponing the NEET exam to October for the sake of students’ mental stress and safety and so that every neet aspirant gets an equal chance in performing well during this tough time,” the petitioner said.

Beside this online petition, the students are also running several other campaigns on social media platforms seeking postponement of NEET 2021 entrance exam.

However, despite the demands from the students to postpone the NEET 2021 entrance exam, the NTA and the Union Education Ministry have said that date for NEET-UG 2021 entrance exam will not change and it will be held on September 12.

It is to be noted that NEET 2021 entrance exam date is clashing with Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) UG, and Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET).
