Pravesh Sharma is a 1982-batch Madhya Pradesh Cadre IAS officer who had a shining career spanning 34 years. To create Sabziwala, an online service that sent consumers fresh fruits and vegetables straight from farmers, he instead took a voluntary retirement in 2016.

In 2016, Sabziwala began by giving deliveries in Dwarka. It eventually spread to surrounding areas such as Janakpuri. YourStory claims that Sabziwala began as an online ordering service before transforming into a way for customers to visit the kirana stores nearby them and get fresh veggies at a fair price without the trouble of bargaining.

About two-thirds of the product is bought directly from farmers' associations or aggregators situated in Panipat, Bhaktawarpur near Delhi, Agra, Indore, Nashik, and Ramda, according to a report by Yourstory.

The International Fund for Agricultural Development's India representative and Madhya Pradesh's agriculture secretary, Sharma studied history at Delhi University. Additionally, he spent five years as the general director of the Small Farmers' Agri-business Consortium (SFAC).

His journey serves as an inspring story of a person who dared to defy social conventions and forge his own special route to success. Pravesh Sharma has found fulfilment in his profession and improved the lives of others by embracing his entrepreneurial spirit and making use of his expertise and experience.
