We all know that becoming an IAS or an IPS officer is no child’s play. It takes a struggle of days and nights to clear the  Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)or Civil Services Exam. Cracking the UPSC exams and becoming an IAS or IPS officer is a dream for many, but something that only a few achieve. While some aspirants succeed on the very first attempt, others taste success after a few attempts. Today, we are going to talk about Meera K from Kerala, who didn't give up despite facing failure and secured AIR 6 in the UPSC 2020 exam. 

Meera from Kerala did her B.Tech from Government Engineering College in Thrissur. After B.Tech, she started preparing for the UPSC exam. However, she failed thrice. She then tasted success in the fourth attempt. However, the failures only made her more determined to prepare harder for the UPSC exams. 

Preparation strategy

According to Meera, candidates should first focus on preparing for the UPSC prelims exam first. Constant focus on current affairs, reading the newspapers and strengthening your base with the help of NCERT books is important. Making notes and having a solid revision plan will result in success.

In Meera's case, she first understood the syllabus and prepared her study material to prepare for the UPSC. She says that one should prepare with better planning. There will be failures, but if one learns from those failures and move forward, one can be successful.

Meera's advice for aspirants

A good plan forward coupled with hard work, diligence and a positive approach always help. There should be room for some breathers and occasional indulgence in some entertainment is no harm.
