The Wazirabad Yamuna Bridge will be partly shut for repair work for three months starting March 25, the Delhi traffic police said on Tuesday, issuing a traffic advisory. The repair work that would stretch into three phases over the next three months would cause major traffic diversions, planned to minimise public inconvenience.

In the first phase, the repair work of cantilever portion i.e. pavements and cycle track from Khajuri side to Civil Lines will be done, for which, one carriageway of the bridge will be closed. The entry of Heavy Tactical Vehicles and Medium Tactical Vehicles will be restricted on the Wazirabad Yamuna Bridge till completion of repair work.

"The traffic from Ghaziabad side may follow alternate routes. The heavy vehicles destined for Haryana may use Loni-Baghpat route, while those heavy vehicles which are destined for Delhi may take Mohan Nagar-Link Road (Vaishali) - NH-24 to enter Delhi as Shahdara flyover is also under repair," the traffic police said in an advisory.
