Noida: 30-year-old alleges sexual abuse at work

A 30-year-old woman working with an IT consulting firm has alleged that she was sexually harassed by her colleague in April this year. A case has been registered at the Sector 58 police station on Wednesday.

According to the police, the woman in her complaint has alleged that on April 13 her team leader asked her to join him in the cafeteria and professed his feelings for her.

"She found the conversation inappropriate after which she left. He followed her inside the elevator and tried to molest her. She immediately alerted one of the company's directors along with the HR head," said a senior police officer.

Police said that she claimed that they assured her of swift action but no action was taken.

"She further claimed that she was fired in the first week of July stating her poor performance as the reason. They just wanted her out for raising these objections," said the officer.
