Ambati Rayudu on Sunday has been reported for suspect bowling action during the first One-Day International (ODI) between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday. 

The match officials cited concerns with the off-spinner’s action after the match. The 33-year-bowled two overs in the SCG match, which India lost by 34 runs.

According to the ICC media release, Rayudu’s bowling action will now be scrutinised further under the ICC process relating to suspected illegal bowling actions reported in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.

Rayudu now has to undergo testing on his action within 14 days, although he can continue bowling during this period until the results of the testing are known. 

The No.4 batsman is a part-time bowler and has taken just three ODI wickets from 46 career matches.

Australia, who lead the three-match ODI series 1-0, will host India in the second match at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday and the final match is scheduled to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
