Indian cricket team player MS Dhoni celebrates his birthday on Tuesday (July 7) as the veteran turns 39 years old.

The former Team India skipper has won all major cricketing accolades that one can achieve during their playing stint.

He is also the only international captain to have won ICC 50-over World Cup, T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy.

It was under the leadership of Dhoni that India reached number one ranking in both Test and ODI formats of the game.

That Mahendra Singh Dhoni is being wished by individuals across different fields is a testament to the respect he garners.

MS has also walked away with the Indian Premier League (IPL) title thrice with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since the start of the star-studded tournament back in 2008.

However, since India's semi-final exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 against New Zealand in August last year, MSD hasn't featured for the Men In Blue.

During his break from cricket, the 38-year-old also served for the Indian Army too.

The 13th edition of the IPL was supposed to act as a stepping stone for Dhoni to showcase his worth and forge his way back into the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The opening match of this year's IPL was supposed to be played between the most successful teams of IPL - defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and CSK - at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 29.
