Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were 'the couple' in Bollywood till 2009, after which the two parted ways.

After a lot of ups and downs, the two eventually became close friends and share a cordial bond even now.

Even after Ranbir started dating Alia Bhatt and Deepika tied the knot with Ranveer Singh in November this year, the old flames showed no signs of awkwardness while in each other's company or while talking about the other.

Proof? The get together picture that Karan Johar shared on his Instagram which also saw Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

But many raised eyebrows when Ranbir Kapoor didn't attend Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's wedding reception in Mumbai which saw a deluge of stars from the Hindi
film fraternity.

People started speculationg why the Sanju actor didn't turn up for the occasion and if he really was caught up with work.

In a recent interview with Filmfare, Deepika Padukone opened up about Ranbir's absence from her wedding reception despite being invited.

The unaffected actress said, "We’ve not spoken. I mean, we spoke before the reception but we have not spoken after. But, that’s him. I’m not surprised at all. But, that’s the relationship we share and that’s the beauty of that relationship; so much is said without saying much at all."

For a long time, Katrina Kaif, who dated Ranbir after Deepika, also was not on good terms with the Padmaavat actress.

However, things took a U-turn during the reception. While Deepika said she had made her peace with Katrina, the latter said that she had a blast at the bash.

Deepika Padukone also said that she greatly admires the way Katrina has conducted herself over the years.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar's film on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The film is said to go on floors early next year.

Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand, is busy shooting for Ayan Mukherjee's Brahmastra.
