Ram Gopal Varma has finally settled the case filed against him by YT Entertainment. They had sued the filmmaker for not paying the dues of Rs 1.06 crore before the release of his film, Officer, starring Nagarjuna. On May 7, the filmmaker was to be present for the hearing, but was represented by co-producer Sudheer Chandra, who informed the court that Consent Minutes Of Order had been prepared and Varma would pay YT Entertainment the due amount on or before May 18, or before the movie’s release, whichever earlier, through RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement).

However, Justice SJ Kathawalla insisted that the filmmaker be present in the court to sign the Consent Order. So, the matter was scheduled for further hearing at 5 pm on May 7. Since RGV failed to be present, the judge passed the order restraining the film’s release.

Eventually, all ended well for the filmmaker when he attended court for the following hearing, paid YT Entertainment its dues of Rs 1.06 cr and signed the Consent Order. As RGV said, “We’ve already settled the matter and I signed the Consent Order. The film will release as scheduled, on May 25.”
