Priyanka Chopra bats for Bollywood

Priyanka Chopra who has successfully crossed over to the West, is busy doing interviews with the media to promote Quantico’s new season. Recently, during an interaction on a talk show, when the host called Bollywood a ‘genre’ of movies, it irked PC. And she had the most befitting reply to that.

She said, “That’s what annoys me so much. When I was working in India, I never realised that out here, Bollywood is reduced to just a genre when it’s not that. It’s actually an entire industry of movies which does action, drama, romance, everything. And Bollywood is not even a place, but Hollywood is! At Trader Joe’s, I saw Bollywood flavoured popcorn. How do you put a flavour to an entire industry? What would Hollywood’s flavour be? What’s annoying is that it gets reduced to a stereotype. Not all Bollywood movies have people breaking out dancing for no reason. Music does play an integral part of our films.” Brownie points to our desi girl for this one!
