There were multiple controversial Bollywood films released in 2023. The two of them that made the most noise was Adipurush, Om Raut's adaptation of the ancient Indian epic Ramayana, and Animal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's hyperviolent crime drama. One actor who was common in both the films was Siddhant Karnick.

Siddhant Karnick played Vibhishana in Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan-starrer Adipurush. The film was called out for its poor characterisation, pedestrian dialogues, and horrible visual effects. Made on an estimated budget of over Rs 550-600 crore, the film grossed Rs 393 crore globally and was one of the biggest flops in the history of Indian cinema.

The actor played Varun Pratap Malhotra, Ranbir Kapoor's evil brother-in-law, in Animal. Though one half of the audience condemned the film for its glorification of toxic masculinity and misogyny, and for its excessive violence, the other half showered their praise and love on the movie and made it a huge blockbuster. Animal went on to earn Rs 915 crore worldwide against its reported budget of Rs 100 crore.

Siddhant made his acting debut with the TV show Remix in 2004 and went on to do multiple shows such as Mahi Way, Rishta.com, Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, and Gustakh Dil among others until he achieved household fame with Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani in which he played the leading role of Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo in 2015.  The Adipurush and Animal actor has also been seen in other films and web series including Yeh Mera India, Lafangey Parindey, Listen Amaya, Thappad, Human, Modern Love: Mumbai, and Made In Heaven 2.

On the personal front, Siddhant is a travel junkie and has shared his experiences of travelling across multiple regions in India on his motorbike in his vlogs on his YouTube channel. He married TV actress Megha Gupta in 2016, they started living separately after three years of their marriage, and their divorce came through in 2020.
